Malena has known the "all done" sign for a while now. Probably since about 7 or 8 months old. I can't remember exactly. But, now, she uses it in other contexts besides eating. When Mommy talks on the phone for too long, she waves "all done" so that I pay attention to her. I can see her in the rearview mirror waving "all done" because she's sick of the car seat. When she's had enough of a particular toy, she starts waving "all done" again. It's good to know she understands, but I'm getting sick of the constant "all done"-ness.
Yesterday she did something quite interesting yet bothersome. Occasionally, if she really doesn't want to be in her crib, she'll bang her head against the wall. In the past, she only did this once or twice, then she'd cry in obvious pain. Well, yesterday, I heard her hitting her head on the wall with the force of a 9.6 earthquake. I peeked in on her...and she was sitting there arranging her green blanket (which is chenille, so it has cushion) over her head. She proceeded to stand up and hit her head on the wall. Well, she is smart. She knew that wearing the blanket would make this a painless, annoying way to get Mommy's attention. Until the blanket slipped off her head and she hit the wall REALLY hard. Needless to say, the crib has moved away from the wall a few inches, yet again.

We were just visiting our neighbors across the street. Nicola had a baby boy...Caleb. So sweet! Linda (the grandmother) was taking photos of him. Malena walked up to her and said "tsssss" (her word for "cheese") so that she would take a photo of her. When Linda went to take the photo, Mimi gave her a big grin! So cute.

I have great news! I am probably going back to work part-time (2 days a week) with the interior designer who I worked for before Malena was born. I'm looking for a nanny right now. Of course, I'm a little nervous about the whole thing...but definitely excited. I think it will be really good for me.
Mimi did something so adorable yesterday. When she got to Gymboree, she and her friend Ella hugged when they saw each other. It was so sweet! I wish I had a photo!Comments:Add a comment:
